The City of Meridian is looking for nominations for this year’s Meridian Stars Awards. The annual awards recognize Meridian residents and businesses for their commitment to preserving, maintaining, and improving the quality of life and safety in their neighborhoods, as well as in the broader Meridian community.
In previous years’ nomination periods, neighbors or neighborhood associations have nominated individuals, couples, and businesses out of appreciation for something they did that particular year, or to recognize their overall effort in adding something more to the community.
The categories include: Youth of the Year, Senior of the Year, Neighbor of the Year, Small Business of the Year, and Large Business of the Year. Mayor Simison will choose a Star of the Year from the list of those who are nominated and awards will be presented to the recipients at an event in October.
