U.S. Congressman Russ Fulcher has reintroduced a bill aimed at eliminating the federal income tax on overtime pay. The legislation, known as the Keep Every Extra Penny (KEEP) Act, was initially introduced in the 118th Congress and gained traction following support from President-Elect Donald J. Trump.

The KEEP Act focuses on removing income taxes rather than payroll taxes to ensure that funding for Social Security, Medicare, and unemployment remains intact.

Congressman Fulcher stated, “Americans who choose to work overtime to support their family should be able to keep more of their hard-earned paycheck, not less.” He added that the legislation aims to provide financial relief amid ongoing inflation and address workforce shortages by increasing take-home pay for those working extra hours.
