U.S. Congressman Russ Fulcher, Mike Simpson, and U.S. Senators Jim Risch and Mike Crapo have expressed their support for the U.S. Forest Service's Final Record of Decision authorizing the Stibnite Gold Project. In a joint statement, they emphasized the importance of this decision in reducing reliance on China for critical mineral production.

"For too long, we have let China hold the cards when it comes to critical mineral production. This Record of Decision is a vital first step in advancing the production of American antimony and strengthening our national defense," stated the members. They also highlighted the need for reforms in permitting processes to better compete with China and utilize domestic resources.

The Stibnite Gold Project will be a significant source of antimony within the United States, contributing to advanced technology, defense, and energy sectors. The project aims to fulfill approximately 35% of the country's demand for antimony during its initial six years.

Perpetua Resources has been working on obtaining necessary permits since 2016 and has engaged with local communities and officials throughout this process. The project promises more than $1 billion in investment and an average of 550 jobs in rural Valley County.
