New Art Exhibit Opens in Meridian City Hall's Initial Point Gallery; Public Invited to Artist's Reception

MERIDIAN, ID – A new art exhibit will open on Tuesday, March 7, in the Initial Point Gallery located on the third floor of Meridian City Hall. The solo show of paintings by Treasure Valley artist Mark Shawver is titled Yesterday & Today. It will feature original acrylic paintings of Idaho from the past and present. Many of the paintings are based on photographs from the Idaho Historical Society archives. Shawver’s artwork will remain on display through Friday, March 31.

The public is invited to view the art and meet the artist at an opening reception to be held Tuesday, March 7, from 4:30 – 7:00 pm, in the gallery, located at 33 E. Broadway Avenue in downtown Meridian. Initial Point Gallery, which is curated by the Meridian Arts Commission, features a rotating series of art exhibits highlighting a variety of local, regional and national artists. It is open weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, excluding federal holidays. Admission to the gallery and opening reception is free.
