Historic Preservation Commission
Historic Preservation Commission meetings are held in the Maryanne Jordan City Council Chambers on the 3rd floor of City Hall. Meetings start at 6:00 p.m. and are open to the public. The meeting's end time depends on the length of the agenda. All public meetings are held in a hybrid format allowing both virtual and in-person attendance:
All applicants, neighbors and residents are strongly encouraged to attend virtually. You can watch the meeting on the City of Boise's Public Meetings YouTube channel.
- Participate Virtually (Zoom)
If you want to testify at the meeting, you can sign-up in advance. A sign up form will be available below once the hearing's agenda has been set. The form will remain active until noon on the day of the hearing. At that point, advanced sign-ups will close and the form will not be displayed. However, any member of the public will still be allowed to speak after everyone on the sign-up list has spoken.
For each hearing item, in-person testimony will be heard before online testimony.

About the Historic Preservation CommissionBoise's Historic Preservation Commission reviews the aesthetics of projects that are within historic overlay districts. While they are independent of the Planning and Zoning Commission and similar to the Design Review Committee, they do not make decisions regarding the use of properties. They review appeals of administrative historic preservation decisions and make recommendations to City Council on ordinance amendments. Any decision of the Commission can be appealed to City Council.
