Earlier this year, Mayor McLean and Boise City Council approved $2 million in American Rescue Plan (ARPA) funds for very small businesses in Boise. Today, applications for the City of Boise Small Business Grant program opened to provide relief and direct support to local small business owners who continue to be impacted by the pandemic.
“Boise’s small businesses are the backbone of our local economy. They are integral to our neighborhoods and the makeup of our city,” said Mayor McLean. “One of my highest priorities is to support our small businesses owners. That’s why I’m proud to partner with United Way of Treasure Valley to get money to those small businesses so they continue to be a part of our great recovery.”
In partnership with United Way of Treasure Valley, the city will distribute mini-grants in the amount of $4,000 to eligible small businesses in our community. The focus of these grants is to provide financial relief to local businesses in industries disproportionally impacted by the pandemic, which includes those that have fewer than 20 employees and sales under $1 million per year. The small business grant program is not a first-come, first-served grant opportunity. Applications will close on January 31, 2023.
"We appreciate the opportunity to partner with the City of Boise to administer grants designed to provide economic recovery and a strong future for our local small businesses. United Way of Treasure Valley values and supports our community's small businesses, which are both a key economic engine and employer," said Tim Jackson, President & CEO of United Way of Treasure Valley
