A new art exhibit will open on Friday, July 1, in the Initial Point Gallery located on the third floor of Meridian City Hall. The show will feature diverse works by four area artists and will remain on display through Wednesday, August 3. The original artworks are presented with the theme of “Animals and Wildlife” with expressive acrylic and mixed media paintings by Kathi Holzer, paintings of fish and wildlife by Josh Udesen, colorful paintings by Amy Story Larson, and mixed media sculptures of horses by Lynn Fraley.
The public is invited to view the art and meet the artists at an opening reception to be held Friday, July 1, from 4:30 – 7:00 pm, in the gallery, located at 33 E. Broadway Avenue in downtown Meridian. Refreshments will be served and local musician Annalea Black will play an acoustic set during the opening reception.
Initial Point Gallery, which is curated by the Meridian Arts Commission, features a rotating series of art exhibits highlighting a variety of local, regional and national artists. It is open weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, excluding federal holidays. Admission to the gallery and opening reception is free.
