Meridian, Idaho issued the following announcement on March 21.
Beginning March 21, 2022, the City of Meridian seeks applicants for their Neighborhood Grants Program. Neighborhood Grant funding is available for residents and organizations who would like to lead an improvement project on public property or an easement within the City limits. The focus of this grant is to assist those interested in positively impacting neighborhoods through updating features, adding elements, or beautification projects. A total of $50,000 has been allocated for the Neighborhood Grant program. There is no minimum, but a maximum of $50,000, and applicants may request funds for more than one project.
“The Neighborhood Grant Program is an opportunity for residents to propose projects that will enhance our community,” said Mayor Robert Simison, “It enables residents who have had an idea about a way to improve a park, pathway, or other public space and take it from concept to reality. I look forward to seeing what projects are submitted for the betterment of Meridian.”
The application period for the Meridian Neighborhood Grant Program opened today and the deadline to apply is May 13, 2022, 5PM. Grants will be awarded to successful residents and organizations who complete the application process and are chosen by the selection panel. Funded projects will provide a public benefit to all members of the Meridian community.
“Meridian residents are rightly proud of their community, as well as their neighborhood. This grant funding will allow residents the opportunity to make their neighborhoods even better as they determine what public property to improve right where they live,” said Meridian City Council President Brad Hoaglun.
Interested residents and organizations are encouraged to visit Meridian’s Neighborhood Grant website to learn more about the program and what they will need to successfully apply. More information and grant applications can be found HERE.
