Today, Congressman Russ Fulcher joined a group of lawmakers in urging House and Senate leaders to prioritize the passage of a border security reconciliation bill. The letter was addressed to Senate Republican Leader-Elect John Thune and House Speaker Mike Johnson and was led by Congressman Andy Harris and Senator Rick Scott.

The lawmakers emphasized the need for prompt action following President Trump's recent election victory. They stated, "House and Senate Republicans now have a responsibility to do everything we can to help the President fulfill the promises he made to the American people. One of those promises was to secure our borders and restore the integrity of our nation’s immigration system after four years of President Biden’s open border policies."

The letter outlined that the first reconciliation bill in the 119th Congress should provide funding for border security measures over four years. Additionally, they highlighted that a second budget reconciliation should aim at preventing a tax increase scheduled for January 1, 2026. The lawmakers expressed their commitment to supporting these legislative efforts in both chambers.

The letter was signed by several members of Congress, including Congressman Andy Biggs, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, Congressman Josh Brecheen, and others. In the Senate, signatories included Senator Rick Scott, Senator Mike Lee, Senator Marsha Blackburn, among others.
