Happy 25th Birthday, Star! | City of Star
December 10, 1997 is a date that Idaho became a much better state. The reason, the incorporation of the City of Star. Even before this historic day for our city, Star was deemed a best place to live and raise your family. Prior to our incorporation, we had growth, and people want and continue to want to be part of our amazing city. The citizens of our community look out for each other, are friendly, are neighborly and are very much strong Americans. We debate, we disagree, and are at times vocal, but when it comes time to help one another, all differences are put aside, and the human element of compassion is prevalent. We support our local businesses, we support our students, we are strong supporters of our United States Constitution. We fully believe in and support our Police, Firefighters and all first responders regardless of position. We stand for our flag; we pray for each other, our community, and our country. We know how to party during the 4th of July, celebrating our very existence as a country. We vote, we are politically active, and we disagree on positions, but again we always come together and are compassionate.
Celebrate our 25th year as a city, for the second time (there is a history lesson here), go out eat local, shop local, shovel your neighbor’s sidewalk. Say Hi, cook a meal for a neighbor, break bread with someone you do not know in our city, continue to be what makes our city great.
To my fellow Starites, thank you, thank you for being you, thank you for your support and thank you for your belief in me and our city. Thank you to the previous mayors and council that helped our city be great. Thank you to all the Star Citizens who agreed to incorporate as a growing city. Thank you to our Police, our Firefighters and our military for your daily local and national protection. Enjoy the day and celebrate the day, the day that Idaho became a much better state.
Happy 25th Birthday Star,
Mayor Trevor A. Chadwick, City of Star, Idaho
