Whether you're taking your little Spidermans and dinosaurs out in the neighborhood or over to the popular Harrison Blvd., it's important to keep safety in mind. Check out a few tips from Boise Police to make sure the only thing that's scary this Halloween are the ghosts and goblins.
Younger children should always walk with an adult. Older children should always walk in a group.
Use flashlights, glow sticks or reflective tape for higher visibility at night.
Do not go to dark, unlit houses. Do not go inside a stranger’s house.
Cross at crosswalks and make eye contact with drivers before you cross.
Walk, don’t run.
Pay attention when walking past driveways to make sure cars aren’t pulling in or out.
Wear non-toxic makeup instead of a mask, which may hinder sight. If you wear a mask, make sure it fits well.
Costumes accessories such as swords shouldn’t be sharp. They should be soft and flexible.
Do not eat candy until an adult checks it.
Eat only factory-wrapped candy and stay away from homemade treats or candy from another country.
Parents, keep an eye out and drive safely.
Halloween on Harrison Blvd.
Halloween on Harrison Boulevard is returning to Boise's North End this year! From 3:30 - 9:30 p.m., Harrison Blvd will be closed to vehicles from Hill Road to Resseguie Street., and only pedestrian traffic will be allowed.
The intersection of Harrison and Lemp will be open to limited traffic. Boise Police officers will help direct traffic at the intersection during closure hours.
