Rep. Russ Fulcher, who represents Idaho’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on recent legislative efforts and local engagement through a series of posts on his official Twitter account between July 21 and July 23, 2025.

On July 21, Fulcher highlighted a meeting with Raya Kenney, stating: “It was a pleasure to meet with Raya Kenney, the Executive Director of the WWII Women’s Memorial Foundation. Rosie the Riveters were vital to the war effort during WWII. In Idaho, civilian women worked and volunteered at the Farragut Naval Training Station in North Idaho.”

The following day, Fulcher announced his support for new firearm legislation: “Proud to co-sponsor the Freedom from Improper Regulation and Enforcement (FIRE) Act. This legislation protects the Second Amendment rights of Idahoans by prohibiting any federal agency from imposing restrictions on firearm magazine capacity.” The FIRE Act aims to limit federal authority over firearm magazine regulations.

On July 23, Fulcher addressed economic policy initiatives benefiting local businesses: “I am proud to champion legislation in Congress that supports Idaho home builders, general contractors, and small businesses. H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th, made the 2017 Tax Cuts and Job Act (TCJA) lower tax rates on small”

Russ Fulcher has represented Idaho’s 1st district in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Raúl Labrador. He previously served in the Idaho Senate from 2005 to 2014 and is a lifelong resident of Idaho, born in Boise in 1962 and currently residing in Meridian. Fulcher holds two degrees from Boise State University.
