Rep. Russ Fulcher, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Idaho’s 1st district since 2019, shared several updates through his social media platform. His recent posts reflect on legislative and executive actions impacting energy policies, veteran affairs, and wildfire response coordination.

On July 9, 2025, Rep. Fulcher commented on a new Executive Order by President Trump which aims to build upon Congress’s H.R. 1, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill. This order seeks to terminate subsidies for wind and solar energy established during the Biden administration. Fulcher expressed concern that “Idaho taxpayers should not be footing the bill for unreliable, expensive energy sources that strain our electric grid.” The full statement can be accessed here.

The following day, July 10, Fulcher highlighted his support for veterans through legislation. He stated his pride in being an original co-sponsor of the Veteran Burial Timelines and Death Certificate Accountability Act. According to Fulcher, “Honoring our Veterans means ensuring dignity and respect in the care they receive from the VA.” This bill mandates timely provision of important services by VA clinicians. More details are available here.

Later on July 10, Rep. Fulcher reported on a meeting with leaders at the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) in Boise. He emphasized NIFC’s crucial role in coordinating national wildfire responses and supporting federal, state, and tribal wildland personnel with necessary resources and intelligence. The full post can be viewed here.

Rep. Russ Fulcher was born in Boise in 1962 and has lived much of his life there or nearby; he currently resides in Meridian. He holds degrees from Boise State University earned in 1984 and again four years later.
