U.S. Congressman Russ Fulcher announced on May 8 that his office has returned $25,050,884 to Idahoans through casework efforts involving federal agencies.

The announcement highlights the role of congressional offices in helping constituents resolve issues with federal bureaucracy and recover funds owed to them. Fulcher said that these efforts have provided meaningful assistance to veterans, seniors, and other citizens who have faced delays or difficulties with government agencies.

Since joining Congress, Fulcher’s office has opened 7,938 cases and closed 7,268. The most common issues involved the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Veterans Affairs. “I’m proud to share that through my office’s casework efforts, we have successfully returned more than $25 million to hardworking Idahoans in the First Congressional District,” said Congressman Fulcher. “I always say one of the most impactful things our team has the privilege to do is help Veterans, seniors, and everyday citizens with federal agencies. Whether it is advocating for the assistance they need, acquiring a timely response, or cutting through government bureaucracy and red tape, my casework team and I are devoted to delivering results for constituents.”

Residents of Idaho’s First District who need help dealing with a federal agency are encouraged by Fulcher’s office to call (208) 888-3188 or visit https://fulcher.house.gov/services/help-with-a-federal-agency/ if they feel their concerns are not being addressed promptly or fairly.

Russ Fulcher is currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Idaho’s 1st district after replacing Raúl Labrador in 2019; he previously served in the Idaho Senate from 2005 to 2014 according to the U.S. House of Representatives. He was born in Boise in 1962 and lives in Meridian; he graduated from Boise State University with a BA degree according to the U.S. House of Representatives.

The return of over $25 million underscores ongoing constituent service as an important part of congressional responsibilities.
