Idaho Congressman Russ Fulcher has joined as a cosponsor of a new bill, H.R. 335, aimed at abolishing the National Firearms Act (NFA). The bill’s primary sponsor is Representative Eric Burlison from Missouri. This legislative effort follows Fulcher’s support for the Hearing Protection Act.
Fulcher has also endorsed another significant pro-gun measure sponsored by Burlison, H.R. 221, which proposes to dismantle the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Gun rights advocates have been pushing for such changes for many years.
In discussing his support for abolishing the NFA, Fulcher remarked, “The National Firearms Act (NFA) of 1934 has long imposed burdensome taxes and bureaucratic registration requirements that infringe on Idahoans’ constitutional right to keep and bear arms. I am proud to co-sponsor H.R. 335 to abolish the NFA and strip the ATF’s ability to enforce this gross infringement on our Second Amendment rights.”
